Lamoille Union to Present “Beauty and the Beast”
Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic, the international sensation that has played to over 35 million people. Based on the Academy-Award winning animated feature, the stage version of “Beauty and the Beast” includes all of the wonderful songs from the movie. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and to be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. Lamoille stage veterans Kaitlyn Jewett and Michael Daley III will play the title roles. The villain Gaston and his sidekick Lefou are portrayed by Noel Kramer and Cullen O’Boyle-Still. Andrew Schrader is Maurice, Belle’s father. Those lovable Enchanted Objects are played by Natalie Reed, Sadie Lourie, Morgan Manning, Melissa Chase, Michael McLure, and Thomas Schrader. In all, over 50 students are in the cast. The Artistic Director/Producer is Lori Lisai, who has treated the community to recent productions of Shrek, Seussical, Once On This Island, and many other popular shows. “Beauty and the Beast” will play in the auditorium of Lamoille Union High School at 7 pm on November 13, 14 and 15.,There will also be a 2 o’clock matinee on November 15. Tickets will be on sale at the door: $7 for students/seniors and $9 for adults. Reserve tickets are not available, but people may come to the school starting Monday November 10 and buy tickets from Christine Cooney in the High School office or Jerri Hurlburt in the Middle School office.
